Ístak is looking for a Metalworker

Ístak hf. is seeking to add staff to the company's machine shop for metalworking and steel erection. Ístak is located in Bugðufljót, Mosfellsbær. The employees will join the team in Ístak's strong service department, which handles steel fabrication and erects steel structures both for the company's own projects and for others.

Ístak is a strong contracting company that handles a variety of projects in various fields. These include construction work of various kinds, power plants, heavy industry projects, earthworks, civil engineering, and harbor construction, as well as road and bridge construction.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• General metalworking according to the foreman's instructions.
• General welding work on parts according to drawings and the foreman's instructions.
• Installation and repair of steel structures.
• Installation and repairs of other steel in buildings.
• Installation and maintenance of machinery/equipment for heavy industry.

Education and qualification requirements

• Vocational training in steel fabrication, machine fitting, or equivalent education.
• Certified welding qualifications.
• Experience with steel erection.
• Communication skills in Icelandic, English, or Polish are required.
